I wish to become a Director on FirstOntario’s Board because I wish to utilize my skills and experience to benefit our members, stakeholders, and the community at large. As the inaugural Director of Risk Management for TAI, a reinsurance administration software company, I am responsible for creating and implementing a comprehensive risk strategy and key metrics, along with building a risk-aware culture. I have also had executive interactions with the board during my tenure at Brookfield Corporation (previously Brookfield Asset Management) and have previously served on not-for-profit boards.

What can you specifically contribute to the Board?

• financial literacy experience, both in a governance capacity on non-profit boards, and in paid roles as an accountant, auditor, and risk manager
• risk management oversight, in both my current (TAI) and previous (Brookfield Business Partners) role
• governance experience, having served 3-year terms at the following non-profits: Choirs Ontario and Etobicoke Historical Society
• information technology oversight & regulatory environment experience through my previous role as Senior Manager, Regulatory Compliance Monitoring and Testing at HSBC Canada, encompassing the areas of technology, cybersecurity, privacy, and data management
